Learn about this ancient and beautiful way of ushering in spring and the techniques necessary to transform a plain egg into an intricate colourful object of hope.
This workshop is for kids (9 years +) and will introduce them to the symbols, cultural context, and lore behind this ancient craft, while also gaining the practical skills of applying wax with a stylus, dyeing, and revealing their egg design.
Each participant will have the opportunity to make 2 pysanky eggs.
Our instructor, Nataliya, hails from Ukraine and is excited to share her skills with the community. She has been running Pysanka workshops for children and adults in the Ottawa Valley for about 10 years.
Note:
Workshops are transferable to another person, but non-refundable. Please make sure this date works with your schedule.
