Introduction to Wood Turning – MORNING WORKSHOP

This workshop is for beginner turners and covers the basics of turning wood on a lathe.

Note that this workshop will be held at Lee Valley’s woodshop on 900 Morrison Dr.

You will learn about wood grain, turning tools, safe lathe operation, and turning theory and techniques. Working under the guidance of an instructor, you will do hands-on turning with the opportunity to make a simple but functional article. The skills from this class will help you as you progress to bowl turning, pen making, and other woodturning projects.

This workshop is the pre-requisite for the more advanced wood turning workshop in March where you will make a shallow bowl.
