Learn the basics of wood turning. Please note that this workshop will be held at Lee Valley.

In this wood turning workshop for beginners you will make and decorate holiday ornaments. You will learn about wood lathes and fundamental woodturning techniques. Working from a set of designs or your own inspiration, make beautiful ornaments and decorate them with provided tools and materials.

This workshop is for beginner turners and covers the basics of turning wood on a lathe.

Our instructor, Peter, is a retired professional Electrical Engineer who worked in several Ottawa area high tech companies. A long time woodworker and handyman, he now works as a Customer Advisor at Lee Valley Tools. His areas of knowledge include joinery and cabinetmaking, veneering, woodturning, wood finishing, and tool sharpening. He regularly conducts drop-ins, demonstrations, and workshops on these topics for Lee Valley and the Ottawa Tool Library.
