Note that this workshop will be held at Lee Valley’s woodshop on 900 Morrison Dr.
This workshop covers the basics of turning a bowl on a lathe and you need to have basic wood turning skills before signing up.
Building on your skills and experience with spindle turning, you will learn about work holding, use of the bowl gouge, planning the work, and cutting techniques. Working under the guidance of an instructor, you will do hands-on turning with the opportunity to make a small but functional article.
Our instructor Peter is a retired professional Electrical Engineer who worked in several Ottawa area high tech companies. A long time woodworker and handyman, he now works as a Customer Advisor at Lee Valley Tools. His areas of knowledge include joinery and cabinetmaking, veneering, woodturning, wood finishing, and tool sharpening. He regularly conducts drop-ins, demonstrations, and workshops on these topics for Lee Valley and the Ottawa Tool Library.
Note:
Workshops are transferable but non refundable. Please make sure this date works for your schedule.
Thank you to Lee Valley in Ottawa for this collaboration.
