The OTL’s Tinkering School is a pilot project providing programming for children 8-12 years old with a focus on environmental education and activities that will teach tool skills for the next generation of do-it-yourselfers. Tinkering School workshops will teach kids about the safe handling of tools while helping them build the confidence to imagine and undertake projects that don’t require a lot of money and help them reduce their impact on the environment.
The Tinkering School is a supportive and collaborative learning environment with a small child to instructor ratio (6:1). We will be offering full-day programming on PD Days throughout the 2019-2020 school year as well as additional half-day workshops. Upcoming workshops will include DIY paint making and upcycled picture frames. We are looking forward to offering a variety of workshops and camps in the future. More workshops will be announced soon, so please sign up to our newsletter and/or follow us on social media to be the first to know what we offer. Questions? Contact Lindsey our Tinkering School Coordinator.
The OTL Tinkering School is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable learning experience for all. Before selecting and signing up for a workshop please be sure that your child understands that the activities will require their attention and maturity. We are working with tools that must be used carefully to ensure everyone’s safety. If you have any questions, please be sure to contact us.
