A Winter Weaving Workshop

Join us at OTL on January 22nd to create your own tiny winter tapestry weaving! This workshop offers the perfect balance of learning a new skill and discovering a calming, creative outlet you can return to all winter long.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, no prior weaving experience is required. As part of your registration, you’ll receive a complete weaving kit — yours to keep — which includes a small wooden loom (by Chip & Sparrow), needles, a manual, a comb/bobbin, a pick-up stick, and a variety of yarn and fibres.
Instead of hand or power tools, you’ll be working with weaving tools — simple, tactile instruments that invite you to slow down and connect with the rhythm of making by hand. You’ll learn a series of fun, approachable techniques to create your own unique woven artwork.
By the end of the session, you’ll not only take home your first tiny tapestry but also the skills (tools and inspiration) to make many more. This just might become your new favourite pastime.
Your instructor, Carmen Bohn, wears many hats: creative entrepreneur, educator, team builder, learning designer, and fibre artist. A strong believer in the power of creative wellness, she often uses art as a way to teach, connect, and help others feel better. Carmen is excited to bring her workshop facilitation skills and creative energy to the OTL, inviting participants to explore—and perhaps fall in love with—some new tools: the tools of craft.
