Consider making a donation to the Ottawa Tool Library. As a registered non-profit, every dollar we raise goes back into our community space and success of our library.
You can help quite literally “build” capacity, skills, and expertise with your donation.
The Ottawa Tool Library has been building skills, capacity, and knowledge for ten years. Your donation supports our facility and the tools our members need to tackle projects, learn new skills, and share their knowledge with the Ottawa community. With over 3,000 members since inception, your donations make an impact for adults and youth alike who both use our WorkSpace, but also participate in Repair Cafés, Tinkering School, recycling events and more – making Ottawa a more environmentally friendly community. Contribute to a more circular economy today, all donation amounts make a difference!
Three Ways to Donate
Ottawa Tool Library is a non-profit organization. This means that 100% of your donations support Ottawa Tool Library programs and initiatives. We are however, NOT a charitable organization, a federal designation that allows us to issue tax receipts. But as of 2025, thanks to the Ottawa Community Foundation, we are now able to accept donations through their Tools for Change Fund.
This means you can now choose how to donate!
Option 1: Donate via our OCF fund
The Ottawa Community Foundation (OCF) has established the Tools for Change Fund so that our donors can receive an official tax receipt for their contribution! If you’d like to donate this way, please select ‘flow-through’ donation so that these funds are accessible when we need them. These funds are only accessible to the OTL for projects that reflect our philanthropic goals—you can read more about these goals on their website before making your donation.
You can donate through this fund by clicking the link below. Funds will be drawn by the OTL as needed to support specific programs tied to environmental stewardship initiatives, affordable access to education programs and more! Plus you’ll get a tax receipt for your support!
Option 2: Donate directly to the OTL
You can donate directly to the OTL via this secure donation form. We will receive 100% of your gift immediately and you’ll receive a donation acknowledgement but no tax receipt.

Donate Tools
Do you have underused household tools that are cluttering up the basement, garden shed, or kitchen cupboards?
For tools with safety guard features, we request that they come equipped when you donate the tool. We aim to accept all quality donations and if we cannot utilize your donation as part of our inventory, we will make every effort to reuse or recycle it the best we see fit.
